Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn fascinating tricks from professional magician Gary Kantor. Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more. All materials are provided and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Additionally, you can sign up for this class again and again since brand new tricks are taught each session! Min 5/Max 35 Chess Class Supervisor: Amanda Heiman No previous knowledge of chess is necessary: players of all levels are welcome. Each class will consist of a fun, interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both new and returning participants will get to the next level under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholars coach. ere will also be a chess competition with prizes at the end of the session! Min 6/Max 12 Code, Play, Learn – Raspberry Pi Supervisor: Amanda Heiman e Raspberry Pi is a complete computer that allows us to explore coding and hardware. Our class encourages kids to tinker and ask "What if ". We will explore the Python coding language to create programs that allow us to engage with LEDs, cameras and sound. Min 4/Max 6 Teen/Middle School Ceramics Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Get creative with the wheel and hand-building techniques to fashion anything from a jewelry box to a pencil holder to a mug! Guided instruction will support individualized project plans. Min 4/Max 6 Try-it Wheel Throwing Workshop Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Want to give the wheel a try? Join us for an introduction to wheel techniques, discovery and exploration. No take home projects in this class, as it is purely an exploration workshop. Min 2/Max 4 Youth Video Game Club Supervisor: Peter Hanneman Does your child love video games but wants to know what exists past Minecra and Mario bros.? Send them to Game Club. Every month we bring in a wide assortment of games and consoles new and old to learn about and play.
