Pizza, Project & Play

Enjoy a Friday by letting us entertain your children
at our Indoor Playground. Each themed evening
will include a pizza dinner, a fun take-home project,
and play time with friends while you get some
much deserved time to yourself. Don't miss out on
the fun for both guardians and kids!

Clay Paint and Draw

Busy hands mean busy minds. Engage in an
aernoon of art while exploring the richness of
clay, the power of paint, and the drama of drawing.
Different projects will be introduced each week to
encourage participants to tap into their creativity
through art!

Kids in the Kitchen

We are stirring up a recipe for learning and fun!
In this class, your child will enhance both math
and reading skills by following easy snack recipes.
Table manners will be encouraged as participants
enjoy their aernoon snack and conversation with
friends.

One Day Science Play
Supervisor: Barb Grooms
e sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it
is time to play! Join friends, old and new, as we
enjoy the summer sun. Each day has a different
science theme allowing children the opportunity
to use their five senses to discover and explore the
wonders of science OUTSIDE. ese play days are
a great place to meet new kids in the area, just like
you!
June 16: Locomotion
Your child will explore the mechanics of movement
as we investigate how things get from one place
to another. We will be movement detectives as we
gather data from our environment to discover how
things move and experiment with how to make
them move fast!
July 14: At the Beach
Your child will be good and messy aer this sense-
ational day at the "beach". Be sure to wear sunscreen
and bring your swimsuit and towel!
August 18: Temperatures Rising
Summer days can sure be hot!! Why? Your child
will enjoy getting hot and keeping ice cold as
they become temperature detectives. What
causes changes in temperature? What is effected
by temperature change? Bring sunscreen, your
swimsuit, and a towel. Water will definitely be part
of this science play day!

Discovery Garden
Exploration Time
Discover the Elsie Jacobsen Discovery
Garden at the Oak Park Conservatory
Every Wednesday & Saturday, 10:30a-12:30p
(weather permitting)
Come explore summer and the gardens at the
Oak Park Conservatory! Hands-on activities led
by our garden docents outside in our Discovery
Garden. Learn about native Illinois ecosystems
and have fun playing in the garden! Topics
include:
June: Sound Exploration
We will explore many ways to make garden
music through drumming, rhythm sticks, and a
sound wall.
July: Water Play
Water wheels, pouring play, water flow wall with
hoses, tubes and cogs and an Archimedes screw
will be in the garden to play.
August: Fossils
Find the fossils buried in the play area, sort real
fossils and create your own fossils.
