Adler Planetarium

Join us in exploring the many permanent exhibits
at Adler Planetarium. Opened in 1930, this historic
museum and research center is America's first
planetarium. e 60,000 square foot Sky Pavilion
features four exhibition galleries, including the
historic Atwood Sphere. Have a relaxing lunch
and the best view of the Chicago Skyline at the
Café Galileo. Transportation and admission

The International Museum
of Surgical Science

Join us for a day of surgical marvels and
breakthroughs! Founded in 1935 by Dr. Max
orek, the International Museum of Surgical
Science opened with the goal of promoting surgical
knowledge worldwide. Since then, the museum has
grown to encompass a historic lakeside mansion
and an array of historically significant surgical
instrumentation, artworks, manuscripts. e
museum continues work to conserve its noteworthy
collections and historic landmark building. Walk
with us through four floors filled with extraordinary
artifacts that interpret the prehistoric through
contemporary healing practices. Transportation
included. Admission is free on Tuesdays to
Illinois Residents with valid Illinois ID or

Museum

e DuSable Museum of African American History
is dedicated to the study and conservation of African
American history, culture, and art. It was founded
in 1961 by Dr. Margaret Taylor-Burroughs, her
husband Charles Burroughs, Gerard Lew, Eugene
Feldman, and others. Taylor-Burroughs and other
founders established the museum to celebrate black
culture, at the time overlooked by most museums
and academic establishments. Transportation

Show can be traced back to 1847 when it was
created as an exhibit of prized fruits and flowers.
Today, the Chicago Flower and Garden Show is all
about inspiring, educating and motivating the next
generation of gardeners. Whether in a backyard,
kitchen or rooop, this is where green lovers and
families go to discover ideas while having fun. e
theme for the 2018 show is Flower Tales, every
garden has a story to tell. Transportation and

The Oriental Institute

e Oriental Institute Museum is a world-renowned
showcase for history, art, and archaeology of the
ancient Near East. e museum displays objects
recovered by Oriental Institute excavations in
permanent galleries devoted to ancient Egypt,
Nubia, Persia, Mesopotamia, Syria, Anatolia, and
the ancient site of Megiddo. Come along to trace
humankind's progress from the most ancient
days of the Middle East. Transportation and
