72 www.pdop.org Chess Workshop Supervisor: Megan Ulczak is workshop is designed for players who already know the basic chess moves. e workshop will include fun and interactive learning, as well as a mini-tournament with prize. Please bring your own snack. Min 5/Max 20 Chess Scholars Supervisor: Megan Ulczak No previous knowledge of chess is necessary; players of all levels are welcome. Each class will consist of a fun and interactive teaching period and guided practice time. Both new and returning participants will get to the next level under the guidance of an experienced Chess Scholar coach. Children will have an opportunity to test for a Chess Belt under a unique Chess Scholars system, patterned aer martial arts belts. ere will also be a chess competition with prizes at end of session! Min 15/Max 30 Fantasy Snow Globes Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Do you like to recycle and repurpose materials? Do you have random underloved toys sitting around your house? Why not incorporate those bits and bobbles into unique and fantastical snow globes! You and your child can dig through a collection of miniature buildings, figurines, plants, and more to create a wintery wonderland of your very own. Min 5/Max 20 You Say It's Your Birthday?! Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Everyone loves a birthday party! Come celebrate with us as we recognize famous artists in the month they were born. We will create our own artwork. You will be inspired by works produced throughout their career and might enjoy a sweet treat as well! Well, now you can! Gary Kantor will teach the techniques needed to take plain balloons and transform them into fascinating balloon animals (like dogs, butterflies, swords, etc.). So, everyone in this class will know exactly how to make their own cool animal creations. And at the end of the class, everyone will get to take home all the things that they made. It's not just for kids! Min 5/Max 35 Magic Class Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn fascinating tricks from professional magician, Gary Kantor. Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more. While the tricks may appear difficult, you'll discover that they are quick to learn and easy to perform. All materials are provided, and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and will learn tricks that are age-appropriate. Additionally, you can sign up for this class again and again since brand new tricks are taught each session! Min 5/Max 35
