Art in the Park Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Spend an evening this summer with one of our experienced art instructors finding the perfect spot in our park to create art. Each month, we will take our art supplies to another Park District space to observe, relax, and create in the great outdoors. e instructor will support and guide instruction as you select your subject matter for your unique piece. Materials will vary from watercolor, pencil, oil pastels, chalk pastels or acrylic. All materials included. Feel free to bring your own if you'd like. Chalk Pastels - June 10 Colored Pencils - Jul 8 Watercolors - August 26 Min 6/Max 16 Try-it: Open Studio Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Want to give ceramics a try? Join us for an introduction to wheel and hand-building techniques, discovery and exploration. No take-home projects in this class, as it is purely an exploration workshop. Min 2/Max 6 Sew Easy Supervisor: Megan Ulczak You will learn basic stitching, cutting fabric, sewing straight lines, and the best practices for sewing. We will complete several small projects that may include pillowcases, tote bags, place mats, and aprons. As always, returning participants are welcome! ere will be modifications made for advanced beginners. Sewing machines are not provided; however, participants are welcome to bring one in. Participants are also encouraged to bring basic sewing supplies (scissors, pins and thread). Fabric for first project is supplied and participants will receive a supply list for remaining classes (about $10 in fabric). Min 6/Max 12 Youth Ceramics Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Students of all skill levels will learn to develop creativity in the ceramics studio. Pottery classes cover: hand-building techniques, scoring, coil pots, intro to the wheel & glazing. Wheel classes cover: centering, raising, opening, pulling and glazing. Min 4/Max 10 Mixed Media & Eco Friendly Art Supervisor: Megan Ulczak Traditional art supplies can be expensive. But making original artwork doesn't have to be! Join us as we upcycle and recycle materials that would otherwise be garbage. Create unique and eco- friendly works of art, using materials you can find at home! All skill levels are welcome.
