Safe Sitter Essentials
Supervisor: Lucie Harrison
Featuring updated curriculum from Safe Sitter
Inc.! Safe Sitter prepares students to be safe when
they're home alone, watching younger siblings, or
babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as
how to rescue someone who's choking, and helpful
information like what to do if there's severe weather.
e lessons are filled with fun activities and role-
playing exercises. A pizza lunch is included! Safe
Sitter course content includes:
Safety Skills: Students learn how to prevent
unsafe situations and what to do when faced
with dangers such as power failures or weather
emergencies.
Child Care Skills: Students learn tips to manage
behavior that will help them stay in control of
themselves and the children in their care. Students
also learn the ages and stages of child development,
as well as practice diapering.
Life & Business Skills: e ability to screen
jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set
students up for success. Students practice these
skills through various role plays.

Teen/Middle School Ceramics
Supervisor: Megan Ulczak
Students of all skill levels will learn to develop
creativity in the ceramics studio. Pottery classes will
cover: hand-building techniques, scoring, coil pots,
intro to the wheel & glazing. Wheel classes will
cover: centering, raising, opening, pulling & glazing

Halloween Scavenger Hunt

A puzzle and scavenger hunt designed to keep
players on their toes while they search for answers
all over Austin Gardens. Players will be provided a
flashlight and there will be prizes & candy.

Spooky Stroll Haunted House

Work as a team to create your very own haunted
house at Austin Gardens that will be featured in
the annual Spooky Stroll! Meet every ursday for
four weeks to come up with the spookiest, scariest,
most terrifying haunted house you can dream
up to be available for your friends to enter and
experience. No supplies or skills are required, just
bring your imagination and love for the haunted!
