5 www.pdop.org New Carroll Center Addition! e construction of the new addition at Carroll Center featuring a Passive House design is nearly completed. Summer camps begin in this expanded facility on June 29. We hope to have a ribbon cutting/ grand opening in the future. Randolph and Wenonah Park Improvements e Randolph Park and Wenonah Park Improvement Projects are near completion. Fitness equipment has been widely requested at community park planning meetings, and we are happy to feature several fitness equipment options at Randolph Park. When it reopens, the park will also feature mutigenerational playground equipment for family members to enjoy together. Swings are the most requested playground equipment from residents. We are happy to report swings are being installed at Wenonah Park for the enjoyment of our playground visitors. ank you for your patience. Scholarships for All Ages Scholarship funds for all ages are available to assist low-income individuals and families in participating in Park District of Oak Park programs. ese funds are provided by the Park District of Oak Park and by the Oak Park Township. For more information or to print an application, please visit www.pdop.org/ scholarships. Key scholarship program details include: • Oak Park residency is required, as well as meeting financial requirements • Funding for up to 75% of program fees • Funding limits are by family member *Please view the online Scholarship Application for details. Applicants must provide all information requested on the Scholarship Application and pay the approved, but reduced, amount of program fees. Please contact Customer Service at (708) 725-2000 if you have questions regarding the application process. Please allow up to one week for processing once you have submitted the Scholarship Application and supporting documentation. Note: Scholarship funds are not retroactively applied to registrations done prior. Forms are available online at www.pdop.org/scholarships. Unused funds do not roll over to 2021. A simple reminder to recycle your program guide at the end of the season. in our parks Childcare Discount Membership In order to provide equitable access to childcare programs, including e Clubhouse and most full-day summer camps, the Park District is rolling out a discount program for residents beginning for 2020 camps and the 2020/21 Clubhouse program. Park Board and Staff, Park District of Oak Park Rehm Park Renovation Postponed e Park District has decided to postpone the Rehm Park renovation project to spring 2021. With the help of a $400,000 Illinois Department of Natural Resources Grant, many welcomed improvements will be made including the addition of a restroom, a picnic pavilion, a new playground with an ADA- accessible synthetic turf surface, and the relocation of the west entrance from the center of the playground to north of the playground to heighten safety. A game area will be created in the southwest corner of the park with table tennis, baggo and the relocated Gaga pit from the east side of the park. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: e pumper trains at Rehm Park will be back once construction is completed. The new Stevenson Park features several playground mounds that are VERY popular with our playground visitors! We hope to open our playgrounds soon. Stay tuned by visiting PDOP.org.
