Each 55-minute class is based on a continually-evolving lesson plan aimed at building strength, balance and agility. Held at Windy City Ninjas, at 648 W. Lake St. in Elmhurst. Supervisor: Chad Drue Fencing - Beginning & Continuing En garde! Diana Unger, a certified coach with the United States Fencing Association with more than 25 years of fencing experience, will teach you the basics of fencing. Fencing requires patience, concentration, discipline, and self-awareness. Self-confidence, self-control, and emotional strength gained from this sport will lead to a healthier lifestyle. Participants must purchase and bring their own fencing mask and jacket. Participants must obtain a $10 U.S. Fencing Membership prior to the first day of class. Participants need to bring a glove for the hand they write with. It does not have to be a fencing glove. A light winter glove, work or gardening glove will do. Participants must have attended beginning fencing prior to registering for continuing. Supervisor: Chad Drue Scholarships for All Ages Scholarship funds for residents of all ages are available to assist low-income individuals and families in participating in Park District of Oak Park programs. Funding for up to 75% of program fees is available with funding limits per each family member. ese funds are provided by the Park District of Oak Park and by the Oak Park Township. Applicants must provide all information requested on the Scholarship Application and pay the approved, but reduced, amount of program fees. Allow up to one week for processing once you have submitted the Scholarship Application and supporting documentation. Note: Scholarship funds are not retroactively applied to registrations done prior. Unused funds do not roll over to 2022.
