Combine the glitter colors of your choice in clear glue to create a custom palette for your original work of art. Using traditional paint first, participants will layer their glitter "paint" as a top coat to add some sparkle and shine. We'll use sponge paper, waterproof markers, and chia seeds to create a custom Chia seed growing canvas. Create a self- portrait, draw your pet, or perhaps invent an animal. Replant with other "hair" like seeds such as grass, alfalfa, radish, broccoli, fenugreek, and lettuce to continue the fun. Participants will learn to play with balance to create a functional art piece that is aesthetically pleasing with a so chime. Ages 7-Adult Res Fee $17 - Fee $22 Location: Dole Center - Studio 3 The Sol Ring Sunday, Jun 19, 1:00-3:00P Artist Sol LeWitt is quoted "Each person draws a line differently and each person understand worlds differently." Join us for a little art game where your instructor will give simple instructions, and you will execute them according to your own interpretations. Leave with a unique drawing all your own. Yarn soaked in glue, ribbon, raffia, cords and more can be used to make a looping and overlapping network to weave through and about. Be free to lump and overlap in the organic style basket form. Ages 9-Adult Res Fee $25 - Fee $30 Location: Dole Center - Studio 3 Pulp Painting Saturday, Jun 25, 10:00A-12:00P Non-bleeding tissue paper is combined with water and torn so that the paper fibers separate and make a rough pulp. Pressing the paper onto a canvas causes the fibers to re-bond with one another and, when dry, form a thicker, stronger paper. Create colorful abstractions, landscapes, and more with this fun technique. Ages 7-Adult Res Fee $16 - Fee $21 Location: Dole Center - Studio 3 Contour Fish Sculpture Sunday, Jun 26, 1:00-3:00P Paper is commonly thought of as a material strictly for use in two-dimensional art. However, it can be used for sculptures, especially when various types of paper are combined as a collage. In this project, students create a three-dimensional "contour line drawing" out of so, flexible sculpture wire, then cover it with decorative papers and tissue. e finished sculptures are lightweight and whimsical.
