Learn the basics about brush, nib, and ink techniques. Explore illustration textures, sketching and inking fundamentals. You can carve into slip, layer it on, and use it as a base for the entire piece. It gives a rich and textured feel to the work. All tools, clay, and glazes are available to use as well as a ceramics instructor for suggestions, feedback, and guidance should you want it. Pieces are fired once a kiln is full so feel free to work on a couple of pieces at a time. Each week your instructor will introduce a new project. All supplies and tools are included, but feel free to bring your own if you want to. Ages 14-Adult Res Fee $72 - Fee $92 Location: Dole Center - Art Room 2 Glass on Glass Mosaic - Tulip Window Panel Wednesdays, April 6-20, 4:00-6:00P or ursdays, August 4-18, 6:00-8:00P Revel in the blossoming of spring by creating your very own blooming tulip glass on glass mosaic. Experience the beauty of transparency, light and color in this 3-class workshop. You will create a stunning hanging panel of colorful orange, yellow, and red glass tulips featuring long curving stems and leaves. Your carefully shaped glass pieces will be glued in place and finally grouted to fill the gaps. When your finished mosaic hangs in a sunny window it'll light up, casting vibrant colorful projections into your home, bringing a bit of spring perpetually into your life. We have a small selection of settings and wire or the instructor will help you find where to purchase what you need. We have a large variety of stones you can use or feel free to bring some from your own collection. e class can be a little messy, so be sure to dress casually and bring an apron if you have one. Ages 14-Adult Res Fee $97 - Fee $117 Location: Dole Center - Art Room 2 Painting Wednesdays, Apr 6-May 11, 6:30-8:00P Spend your evenings painting at Dole Center with professional support and guidance from a local artist and college instructor. Paint distraction-free with a group of others looking to create. Instruction is made for all and all skill levels are welcome.
