We're putting on our detective hats and inspecting the scene of the crime, looking at clues, and analyzing all of our suspects. Can you solve the mystery? Come paint flower pots with us and learn about the different native plants we have for you to plant – they've been stratified so we can plant them right away! Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so we're using leaves and flowers in our card making to make them extra special. Everyone gets to take home at least three cards. Or that male land snails actually hit their lady friends in the face with a dart? Here at the Anti-Valentine's Day Zoo, we're celebrating the single life by exploring exhibits of some of the worst couples in the animal kingdom. Who needs a Valentine, anyway? Ages 10-18 Res Fee $13 - Fee $18 Location: RCRC Tale of the Takhi Horse Wednesday, Mar 1, 3:30-5:00P Far away in the plains of Central Asia lives the last wild horse on Earth… the Takhi. Once extinct in the wild, their survival is an ongoing success story involving cave paintings, Chernobyl, and even cloning. March 1st is National Horse Protection Day, and we're taking a deep dive into how people have done just that for the Takhi. Ages 10-18 Res Fee $13 - Fee $18 Location: RCRC Teen Adventure Club: Slacklines & Hammocks Saturday, Mar 4, 2:00-4:00P Who says adventures can't be laid back? Join us as we put up our hammocks and chill, or practice your trapeze skills on the slackline! We'll show you how to safely put up a hammock or slackline without damaging trees, and how to do it if your chosen trees aren't exactly close together. What do you say? Come hang with us! Ages 10-18 Res Fee $20 - Fee $25 Location: Austin Gardens Nature Makers: Survival Bracelets Wednesday, Mar 8, 3:30-5:00P Paracord – it's a lifeline for hikers everywhere! It replaces a broken shoelace, holds up your tent's rain fly, and can even keep your food safe from bears! We're making bracelets out of it, so you'll always have this survival tool on hand when you need it. Plus, it looks really cool, too. Ages 10-18 Res Fee $13 - Fee $18 Location: RCRC Beware the Eggs of March! Wednesday, Mar 15, 3:30-5:00P Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears! We have a challenge for you! Our wonderful egg- shaped emperor – Julius Caesar Salad - is at risk, and there's only one way to save him. We must build the best protective contraptions we can, and keep him safe from an epic egg drop challenge. Prizes awarded to the egg drop competitors that protects him the best.
