Illusions

Immerse yourself in in the wonderful world of
illusions! Guests will enjoy more than 80 visual
and educational exhibits featuring holograms,
tereograms, optical illusions, and immersive rooms
designed to tease the senses and trick the mind. is
is a combination trip with the Active Adults and
their Program Supervisor. Pack a lunch to enjoy in
Millennium Park or swing by a local restaurant for a
bite. Each registration covers one grandchild and one
grandparent.

Harvest Pow Wow

visiting the Harvest Pow Wow! Put on by the Midwest
SOARRING Foundation, this event shares culture
through dance, art, drumming, and storytelling.

Hands-On with Indigenous
Technology

Get interactive with history this Indigenous Peoples'
Day, and explore what Native American tribes did in
their day to day life over 400 years ago! We have
the Elgin Public Museum all to ourselves to play
a variety of Native American games, use historic
artifacts, and even see some real bison! Ages 10-18

Danada Preserve Prescribed Burn

"Fire? I'll take you to burn!" No, really! Prescribed
burns are a way for ecologists to help grasslands and
prairies continue to grow without wildfires, and we
get to dive into the process! Explore the equipment
that burn crews use, and how the weather affects
when they can actually use them to burn things for
science – weather permitting, we can assist, too!

where we'll explore space and watch a show in the

Winter Hiking at Spring Lake
Trails

We're taking in the winter sights and sounds as we
explore the Cook County Forest Preserves! But this
time, you plan the adventure! On this teen-led hike,
we'll be starting at Penny Road Pond and taking the
trails whichever way our teenage participants decide.

Lincoln Park Zoo

We always think of the visiting the zoo in the
summer, but in the winter a whole different batch of
animals are active! Come see the seals, polar bears,
and snow monkeys live their best lives out in the cold,
and then warm up at some of the indoor exhibits!

Rocks & Fossils Guided Tour

It's a beautiful February aernoon, but how do you
spend you newly-found free time? e experts at
the Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art have just the
thing – we're taking a guided tour! ere will also
be prizes awarded to the winners of the geology
scavenger hunt, so come along on a trip that rocks!
