Some of the earliest naturalists and conservationists were women, and we're here to give them a spotlight. Each month's lecture features a different area of the natural world, and 2-3 women who studied it, or still are today. Adults Res Fee $136 - Fee $156 Location: GRC AfriCaribe - African Caribbean Dance Workshop Saturday, Oct 1, 11:00A-1:00P AfriCaribe is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation, research, promotion, and development of the Puerto Rican and Caribbean cultures through music, dance,theater, and other artistic media. AfriCaribe seeks to accomplish its mission by developing a performance ensemble utilizing dance, music, theater, and other artistic forms with which to celebrate cultural traditions. While reflecting the influence of other ethnic and cultural groups, AfriCaribe's primary focal point is the African culture of the Caribbean. No experience necessary. ere will be a 90-minute master class followed by a 20-minute demonstration/history presentation. All ages welcome! You can join us for culturally-inspired art classes and workshops, or join a fitness class and listen to some great Black American music while you exercise. We'll also celebrate this year's theme, Black Creativity and Black Sustainability, by exploring what it means to be an artist, environmentalist, or both.
