Adult Pickleball Lessons
What is the fastest growing sport in the USA? It's
Pickle ball – a paddle sport which combines elements
of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Pickle ball
can be played on a tennis court and a lowered net. It
is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar
to a whiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles.
Participants will be sorted by skill level. Participants
are required to bring their own paddle.
Adult Beginning/Continuing
Fencing
En garde! Diana Unger, a certified coach with the
United States Fencing Association with more than 25
years of fencing experience, will teach you the basics
of fencing. Fencing requires patience, concentration,
discipline and self-awareness. Self-confidence,
self-control, and emotional strength gained from this
sport will lead to a healthier lifestyle. Participants
must purchase and bring their own fencing mask and
jacket. Participants must obtain a $10 U.S. Fencing
membership prior to the first day of class
(www.usafencing.org). Participants must also bring a
glove for the hand they write with. It does not have to
be a fencing glove.
Adult Boxing
In a fun and safe outdoor environment, students
will learn self-defense utilizing boxing techniques.
Students learn how to punch, block and use boxing
combinations depending on skill level achieved.
Students become more physically fit and learn the
whole-body coordination.
Adult Ninja Warriors
Working off an integrated curriculum/structure,
this class is appropriate for beginner and advanced
participants. It's all about progression in each obstacle
and each individual putting themselves to the test
week aer week. Class will include beginner and
intermediate obstacles, as well as some of our most
challenging obstacles aimed at building strength,
balance and agility. Class will typically include three
circuits with 5-8 stations (obstacles) per circuit. Each
55-minute class is based on a continually-evolving
lesson plan and set of obstacles and circuits aimed
at providing a foundation of strength, agility and
balance. Our mission is to strive to have all achieve,
grow in perseverance, athleticism, confidence and
have fun doing it! Held at Windy City Ninjas at 648
W. Lake St. in Elmhurst.
