A Perfect Setting
Cheney Mansion, with its spacious rooms and
landscaped grounds, is available for your most
special occasions: weddings, private parties, recitals,
memorial services, luncheons and tours. It provides
the perfect setting for corporate seminars, meetings
and receptions. For more information, please visit

Cheney Mansion
Greenhouse Project
Renovation began on the Cheney Mansion
greenhouse in May, including replacement of
glazing and related framing, restoration of the
ventilation systems, a new concrete floor, masonry
tuckpointing, and the addition of double doors on
the south side of the greenhouse for easy access.
Additionally a restroom will be added on the north
side of the greenhouse. Renovation is anticipated to
be completed in August to make this beautiful new
venue on the Cheney Mansion grounds available for
weddings and other private parties this autumn and
for use by residents and visitors when the grounds
are open to the public.
Breakfast, Lunch & Tea with Santa at
Cheney Mansion
Supervisor: Poppy Vogel
Join Santa and his elves for this wonderful family
tradition. Holiday music and a visit with Santa are
all included. New toys will be collected for donating
to local charities. Each family member attending
must be registered. Tickets are non-refundable, or
exchangeable for different seatings (unusable tickets
may be returned to the Park District of donating to
local charity). Number of guests per seating: 120.
All children must be accompanied by an adult. All
participants pay full price no matter the age. No high
chairs or strollers allowed.

Kids Cook - Iron Chef
Supervisor: Poppy Vogel
Just like on TV! Battle it out with your Iron Chef
team. Chef will select teams randomly. Each team
will be provided a protein. Teams then will be able
to pick a starch and vegetable to create a full meal.
Of course, Chef Ron is on hand for suggestions,
techniques and assistance.

Kids Cook - Fall Celebration

We're celebrating fall with a delicious home-made
gnocchi with onions, tomatoes and zucchini.
Accompanied by a fresh Caesar Salad, and a
cinnamon-streusel bundt cake. Fall never tasted so
good!
