Join us for an evening of wheel techniques, discovery and exploration as you experience the Park District's ceramics studio at Dole Center. Come ready to get messy and learn the basics. Please note the studio only has 6 wheels; therefore space is limited. Multiple dates available. Sign-up to take this ceramics class where you will get creative with the wheel and hand-building techniques to fashion anything from a jewelry box to a pencil holder to a coffee mug! Please note the studio only has 6 wheels for use during open hours.Min 4/Max 10 YOUTH ARTS YOUTH ARTS Sew Cute: Sewing Machine Works Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Does your child want to learn how to sew using a sewing machine? In this workshop, Angie will teach your child about the basics of threading and operating a sewing machine and we will sew a throw pillow of his or her design. Participants must supply own sewing machine with a bobbin and one spool of thread. All other supplies will be provided. Please request instructor approval for participants younger than age 8. Parents are welcome to stay to observe and help. Min 8/Max 12 Kids Cook! Supervisor: Poppy Vogel These classes involve hands-on techniques in Cheney Mansion's catering kitchen! Min 6/Max 10 International Pizza: Chef Ron Martin will teach you about the history of pizza while you make two different doughs and three pizzas that have international flair. Celebrating Brunch: With Mother's Day and Father's Day on the horizon, learn how to make a fabulous brunch to help celebrate their special day! In this class, you will learn to make a classic quiche, roasted potatoes, and a fruit trifle. Iron Chef: Just like on TV! Battle it out with your Iron Chef team. Chef will select teams randomly. Of course, Chef Ron is on hand for suggestions, techniques and assistance. This class will vary from the fall program, so sign up again!
