Supervisor: Amanda Heiman The holidays are fast-approaching! Would you like to learn how to sew so you can sew fabulous gifts? In this three hour workshop, Angie will teach you how to operate your machine (or help you become more comfortable with it) and understand more about sewing terminology and tools as you sew a pillowcase. Participants will supply 1 yard of 100% cotton woven fabric (quilting cottons and flannels are recommended), sewing machine and scissors. Machine rental is available upon request - please contact the program supervisor. Min 5/Max 8 You Sew Girl! Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Adults are encouraged to stay during this beginning machine sewing class geared towards younger sewers. In addition to learning how to thread and operate the sewing machine, we'll sew some cold weather acces- sories like fleece infinity scarves, fingerless gloves and earbands in this workshop. Participants must supply basic sewing tools including scissors and thread and a sewing machine (no toy sewing machines, please). Machine rental is available upon request - please contact the program supervisor for information. Min 5/Max 8 Sewing Skills Workshop: Mitered Corners Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Regardless if you are new to sewing or an accom- plished sewist, if you like to sew home dec items, this workshop is for you. In this workshop, learn how to sew a mitered corner which is a useful skill used in making polished corners for curtains, blanket bindings, napkins, table runners and placemats. Par- ticipants will supply one yard of cotton woven fabric, a sewing machine and basic sewing tools (scissors, thread, pins, etc.) and join Angie in making a set of napkins or placemats. Machine rental is available upon request - please contact the program supervisor. Min 5/Max 8 Stage Stars Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Your time to shine, its acting time! In Stage Stars children will learn theater terms, play games, and act in short skits. During theater games, students will use their creativity to communicate and improvise. The carefully selected skits are based on folk tales that teach cooperation and positive moral values. Every student will have the op- portunity to play at least one lead role. Also, Stage Stars participants can earn prizes for identifying and explaining parts of a skit and goals of the characters. Parents are invited to attend the final performance on the last day of class! Min 5/Max 20 Amigos Spanish Club Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Learning Spanish is as easy as uno, dos, tres! In Amigos Spanish Club, children will learn num- bers, colors, shapes, greetings, days of the week and more. We will be singing, clapping, and counting our way towards learning the Spanish Language.
