67 YOUTH SPORTS YOUTH SPORTS Fencing (Beginner - Advanced) Supervisor: Chad Drufke En garde! Diana Unger, a certified coach with the United States Fencing Association with more than 25 years of fencing experience, will teach you the basics of fencing. Fencing requires patience, concentra- tion, discipline, and self-awareness. Self-confidence, self-control, and emotional strength gained from this sport will lead to a healthier lifestyle. Weapons, jackets, and masks will be provided and shared among classmates.*Participants must obtain a $5 US Fencing Membership prior to the first day of class. Basic skills of dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense will be taught. Games will also be played to show the impor- tance of teamwork in game situations.Min 6/Max 21 Class does not meet: 11/27 Flag Football Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Are you ready for some football? This class is designed to teach and enhance the skills of our future stars. Proper techniques on passing, receiving, blocking, and kicking will be covered. Breakdown of offensive and defensive strategies will also be covered. Teamwork and positive play are highly stressed, but our main objective is to have fun. Min 6/Max 21 Flag Football League Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Are you ready for some football? This recreational league where players are divided up with the first two weeks being strictly instructional teaching the necessary techniques on both sides of the ball with an emphasis on teamwork and working on the funda- mentals. The next six weeks offer a safe, competitive game play enviroment with the final week consisting of a championship game. Min 10/Max 40 Instructional Flag Football Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Join our instructional Youth Flag Football League for 1st and 2nd graders! Practices and scrimmages will be held on Saturdays for an hour. The first two weeks will be practice only and the next four weeks will be split between 30 minutes of practice and 30 minutes for scrimmaging. Volunteers are needed to coach the team along with referring the scrimmages. Interested adults should contact Dan Schaffer at 708-725-2104 Youth Dodgeball Supervisor: Dan Schaffer Are you looking to play your favorite game from camp this summer? Participants will develop throwing, catching, and dodging skills as well as the agility and stamina needed to play Dodgeball. Classes will consist of organized games as well as various competitions throughout the duration of the class. Min 6/Max 21 Class does not meet: 11/26
