Apple Picking in Apple Holler

Pick your own apples at Apple Holler. There will be
a tour of the orchards on an old fashioned hay ride.
Then we will be able to pick our own apples to take
home. Lunch will be on your own at the friendly
Apple Holler Country Restaurant which serves
up hearty home-style meals (their specialties are
Applewood smoked meats such as prime rib, ham,
chicken, chops and turkey.) There will also be time
to shop in their great Country Store and Gift Shop.
FREE for Active Adult Members, however reservation
is required.

Anderson Japanese Gardens Trip

Anderson Japanese Gardens is an authentic Japanese
Garden that touches the soul. The Garden is
maintained using the highest standards. With grace,

humility in service to people of all cultures. A visit to
Anderson Japanese Gardens in Rockford, IL provides
an unforgettable experience for all.

Overnight Trip to Starved Rock for
Fall Colors!

Get away to Starved Rock State Park for one of the
best fall color displays in the Midwest! We will leave
Oak Park Tuesday morning and head home from
Starved Rock Lodge after breakfast on Wednesday.
Planned for you: a relaxing trolley ride, a hot lunch
in the rustic Starved Rock Dining Room and a
guided, scenic walk to experience the spectacular
colors of autumn. We'll stroll less than a mile
over 45 minutes, to take in the sights and sounds
of the forest around us. Be sure to pack appropriate
footwear as the trails are not paved. After the tour
(back at the lodge by 2:30 pm), feel free to relax
and unwind in the indoor pool, hot tub and sauna,
or strike out on a hike to explore the area. The
lodge also offers massages by appointment. Lunch
on Tuesday and breakfast on Wednesday included.
Dinner and extras are on your own. Fee is for double
occupancy, single rooms will incur an additional
charge. Bus pick up at Fox Center at 8:30AM, pick
up at Dole Center at 8:45AM.

Valentino Vineyards Winery Tour

Just in time to sip and choose wines for your
Thanksgiving celebration. Valentino Vineyards &
Winery produces 20 different types of wine starting
at $14 per bottle. The vineyard has 25 different
varieties of grapes grown on their 20 acre estate. The
wines are aged in fine quality French and American
oak barrels. We will enjoy a tour of the vineyard and
participate in a wine tasting that will include five of
their finest wines. After the tour and tasting we will
stop at Enzo & Lucia's Restaurant in Long Grove
where lunch will be on your own.

Art Institute of Chicago Trip

Spend the morning with us as we explore The Art
Institute of Chicago! This museum located in Chi-
cago's Grant Park displays a vast, permanent collec-
tion of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist works.
Its holdings also include American art, Old Masters,
decorative arts, Asian art, modern and contemporary
art, and graphic design, to name a few! Pick up at
Dole Center at 9:45AM, at Fox Center at 10:15AM.
