Hockey - Youth
Polar Cubs 1
Ages 3-5
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Polar Cubs 1 focuses on skating only, as the
program believes in establishing strong skaters
from the beginning before introducing aspects
of the game. Players will be slowly introduced
to aspects of the game aer developing comfort
marching, gliding, and maneuvering the ice.
Practice outside of lessons is HIGHLY encouraged.
Equipment Required: Hockey helmet, elbow pads,
knee/shin pads, gloves (winter or hockey). Highly
recommended equipment: Hockey pants and
shoulder pads.
Polar Cubs 2
Ages 3-5
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
Passing Requirement: Passing Polar Cubs 1 or
equivalent hockey or skating class. Polar Cubs 2 will
introduce hockey specific skating techniques. Skills
developed in this class include striding, stopping
and turning techniques, and an introduction
to edges and backward movement. is level
introduces introductory hockey skills such as sweep
shots, sweep passes, and basic puck handling.
Equipment Required: Hockey helmet, shoulder
pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, knee/shin pads,
and hockey gloves.

Prerequisites: Passing Polar Cubs 2 or equivalent.
Polar Cubs 3 further develops skating while
preparing players for travel hockey. Skaters will
learn to make quicker and precise movements
and transitions by further developing the stride,
stopping, and backward skating. is level also
introduces hockey skills that are necessary at the
travel level. Equipment Required: Hockey helmet,
shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, knee/shin
pads, and hockey gloves.

Summer Hockey Mini Session
Ages 5+
Supervisor: Kyle Sandine
e summer is a perfect time to introduce or
refine hockey skills and beat the heat! Our
summer clinics will introduce a variety of
hockey skills that will get your player prepared
for the upcoming lesson or hockey season.
ese clinics will focus on different skills each
week to refine each player's ability. Classes will
feature both large and small group formats
consistent with the American Development
Model.
