spring lawn. Learn what you need to do this fall
to prepare your lawn for winter so that a beautiful
green lawn will be yours next spring. New this year,

your garden!

Garden Plant Series:
Midwestern Native Grasses
Supervisor: Leah Pryor
Midwestern Native Grasses is the third in a three
part series of "Good for your Home" plant lectures.
Midwestern Native Grasses will explore the most
common and popular native grasses, the difference
between the ornamental cultivar selections and
natives and good combinations for your home. Each
participant will take home a small nursery starter
container for your home.

design expert! Have help in flower selection and
arrangement to create spectacular containers for
your home. is class is great for condo/apartment
dwellers. Bring your own container or choose from

Fall Bulb Planting

ere is nothing more joyful than daffodils, tulips
and hyacinths blooming in spring. Now is the time
to plant those bulbs in your garden and anticipate
the return of beautiful flowers aer so many grey
months of winter. We will gain knowledge of the
best bulbs for our region, best planting methods and
how to care for them to ensure years of bloom. Class
is free but registration is required.

Worm Composting
Supervisor: Leah Pryor
Everyone can compost food scraps with the help
of a worm compost bin. Clean, odorless indoor
composting can take care of all your kitchen scraps
year-round. And if you do not have a garden for
the compost, your houseplants will love it. We will
discuss the science of composting with worms, the
do's and don'ts and create a small bin stocked with
worms to take home.

Fall Perennial and Tool Exchange

Want to share some of the bounty in your garden or have too many gardening
tools? en come to the Perennial, Tool, and Houseplant Exchange. Drop off
potted and labeled perennial plants and garden tools at the alley gate, south of
the Conservatory, from 9:30 until 11:30am. (No coupons) Return between Noon
-12:30pm to pick from the plants and garden equipment donated by others.
