Urban Bats

Bats have a spooky reputation because of their
association with Halloween, but there's so much to
learn about these high flying mammals. You will
become truly batty for bats aer you discover all
these critters do for you and the environment. Aer
the lecture we will find bat hotspots around Oak
Park.

Stuff Your Own Scarecrows

Get your yard ready for fall with this fun-filled
festive activity. Stop by the Conservatory to stuff
your very own scarecrow! Bring an outfit to make
your fall fellow the best dressed scarecrow in Oak
Park and we will provide the rest! Each family will
take home 1 scarecrow. Fee is per scarecrow.

Terrarium Construction: Family
Supervisor: Leah Pryor
Learn the basics of terrarium construction and care
while constructing your very own terrarium with
a Halloween or Holiday theme to take home. Each
registration includes 1 terrarium. Maximum of 2
participants per registration.

Looking for a fun way to burn off a few of those
anksgiving feast calories? Come over to Austin
Gardens to join us for the fun-filled friendly
competition! Compete against other families in a
series of fun obstacle courses, puzzles and games!
See if your family can be the champion of this year's
Full games! Program is dependent upon weather.

Holiday Hike

Enjoy the natural sights of the season as you follow
a trail of festive gingerbread men through Austin
Gardens. Finish your hike in the Environmental
Education Center to decorate gingerbread cookies
and enjoy hot cocoa. Fee is per person.
