Choose from vessels or monsters based on your artist's age. Clay Monsters (Ages 4-7) Using hand-building techniques, children will design and construct monsters of all sorts - cute, scary, funny or whatever they choose! Clay Vessels (Ages 8-12) Using hand-building techniques, children will design and construct a vessel or two to store their secret treasures. From jewelry boxes to treasure chests your artist is sure to create a keepsake they can be proud of ! Min 4/Max 10 Family Wheel Throwing Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Explore the use of the wheel and basic throwing techniques in a family-friendly class. Wheel practice will take place weekly in addition to learning the basics of glazing and pottery creation. Fee covers one child and one adult. Please note the studio only has 6 wheels; therefore space is limited . . . sign up today! When registering please enroll child only. Min 4/Max 6 Try-it Wheel Throwing Workshop Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Want to give the wheel a try? Join us for an introduction to wheel techniques, discovery and exploration as you experience the Park District's ceramics studio at Dole Center. Come ready to get messy and learn the basics. Space is limited. No take home projects in this class, as it is purely an exploration workshop. Min 2/Max 4 Need more time to get your ceramics projects done? Come during designated Open Studio times, offered once a month for current students – no need to sign up, just stop on in Thursdays, June 29, July 27 and August 31, 5:00-9:00P. Looking for ceramics classes for your 10-14 year old? See page 75. Youth Ceramics Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Spend your time in the ceramics studio. Kids will learn hand-building and glazing skills through specially designed projects with the opportunity to create and design their own masterpieces! An introduction to wheel use will also be demonstrated and practiced during class time. All skill levels welcome! Please note there are only 6 wheels in the studio; therefore, pending enrollment numbers, not all students will use the wheel each class. Min 4/Max 10
