A different medium and topic will be the focus of each workshop. Material exploration in addition to guided instruction will make up each workshop. Wall worthy artwork will be created in each: June 24 - Splatter Art inspired by Andy Warhol Use balloons filled with paint, fly swatters, and spray bottles to create your splatter art in this one day workshop. Dress for mess as we will be outside expanding our workshop in this larger than life art activity. July 22 - Shadow Art Bring some of your favorite objects from home or use what the instructor provides to create a shadow piece. Weather permitting we will be outside designing our canvases for this one day workshop that will explore light, shadow, and creativity. August 12 - Zen DOODLES DOODLE your way through this one day workshop. Artists will learn about zentangles, patterns, and design. ey will use pencil and sharpies to create a pattern-filled object of their choice. Min 6/Max 12 Teen/Middle School Ceramics Supervisor: Amanda Heiman What a fun way to spend an aernoon . . . with friends . . . jammin' to music while makin' art! Sign-up to take this ceramics class where you will get creative with the wheel and hand-building techniques to fashion anything from a jewelry box to a pencil holder to a coffee mug! All skill levels welcome! Please note there are only 6 wheels in the studio; therefore, pending enrollment numbers, not all students will use the wheel each class. Min 4/Max 6 Class does not meet: 7/1 Need more time to get your ceramics projects done? Come during designated Open Studio times, offered once a month for current students – no need to sign up, just stop on in ursdays, June 29, July 27 and August 31, 5:00-9:00P. Kids Make Dinner Supervisor: Amanda Heiman In this one-week class your culinary artist will create a different course each day as they prepare for their final dinner party . . . where the kids serve you! Day One: Appetizers & Soup Day Two: Salad & Main Course Day ree: Dessert Day Four: Menu Design & Serving Plan Day Five: Set up & Serve On the last day of class, parents will arrive at 6:00P to be seated to enjoy a well-deserved dinner made by kids. Kids learning to cook is great for the whole family. Min 6/Max 8 CULINARY ARTS One-Day Workshop Supervisor: Amanda Heiman One day culinary workshops are designed for students to explore their creativity in the kitchen, from baking to faux food and more! A different recipe will be introduced each workshop. Please note, food takes time to cook, bake, or simmer therefore additional art and/or games will be facilitated during those times: June 17 - Bakers Delight In this class you will enjoy mixing, stirring, measuring, and pouring your way through baked good recipes. Whatever dessert you will be whipping up, will be DELICIOUS! Take home a recipe and goodies at the end of the workshop. Make extra special treats for your special valentine in this workshop! July 15 - Creative Cooking Food is the center of our lives! Spend this workshop mixing, chopping, & prepping for a masterpiece you can eat. Art projects will be created in addition to food preparation & exploration, as we always need time for our food to cook! Please be sure to inform the supervisor of any food allergies! August 19 - Oodles of Noodles Who doesn't love pasta! Spend this workshop with us making oodles of noodles to eat . . . and use for an art project. In this workshop, it's okay to play with your food - join us for taste testing and creating.
