Learn about a new nature topic and make a nature-inspired cra to take home. Each month we will focus on a different nature topic. January - Owl Prowl March - Nature & Art Night: Trees, Textures & Treats Min 6/Max 12 Ski and Snowboard Trip Supervisor: Leah Pryor Enjoy the weekend skiing down the slopes at Wilmot Mountain in Wisconsin for 5 hours. Registration includes: equipment rental (poles, helmets, skis or snowboard) li ticket and transportation. Min 8/Max 15 Winter Family Hike Supervisor: Leah Pryor Just because it's cold outside doesn't mean that you have to stay inside! Stay active this winter with a hike at Matthiessen State Park. Explore frozen waterfalls and beautiful winter scenes as we hike in the crisp, winter air. Trip includes transportation to and from the park. Bus leaves from Fox Park. Min 8/Max 14 Green Valentines Supervisor: Leah Pryor Drop by Austin Gardens to make a beautiful and unique green valentine for your loved ones! Enjoy a valentine's snack and use recycled materials to create a card that shows how much you care! is is a drop-in program so come any time between 1:00- 3:00P. Registration is required. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Each child in your family must be a registered participant. Min 6/Max 30 Family Art Night Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Enjoy family time being creative, busy and . . . of course together! Each family art night will consist of 1-2 projects around the planned theme, as well as snack time and extension activities. $21 fee covers one child and one adult (register pair using child's name). Additional guests are $6 and include other adults and children attending with your family. February – Prints & Silhouettes March - Nature & Art Night: Trees, Textures & Treats Min 6/Max 12 Snow Tubing Supervisor: Leah Pryor What better way to spend a winter weekend day than tubing down the long, snow-covered hill at Villa Olivia in Bartlett. Tube rental and transportation included. Children must be over 6 years old to tube. Min 8/Max 24 Breakfast With the Trees Supervisor: Leah Pryor Stop by Austin Gardens to learn about the age-old practice of making maple syrup. From the history to the process of how it's made, get all of the info that you need to get stuck on syrup! Finish the morning with a pancake breakfast! Registration includes 2 family members. Each additional family member is $6.00. Min 4/Max 6 Citizen Science Saturday Supervisor: Leah Pryor Citizen Science allows non-professional science enthusiasts to take part in data collection. is is a great way to get involved and to learn about a new scientific topic! Join us once a month for citizen science Saturday where we will highlight a different citizen science project that you can get involved in around Chicago. Coffee and snacks will be provided. In March we will be highlighting the Frog Calling Survey and the Illinois Odonate Society (Dragonflies). Min 6/Max 30
