47 School of Rock Workshop: Discover your Instrument (Ages 6 - 8) Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Discover the instrument that's best for you in this action-packed 2 hour workshop. Young musicians will take turns experiencing the magic of playing all the major rock instruments: guitar, bass, drums, keys and vocals. Students will learn about pitch, rhythm and musical teamwork through music-based games and a group rehearsal of simple rock songs. It's never too early to start developing a core understanding, confidence in, and love of music. Projects include coil pots, creature containers and slab sculptures. (Projects will be modified for different skill levels.) Min 6/Max 10 Ceramics - Parent/Child Wheelthrowing (Ages 5-9 with adult) Supervisor: Shari Wenzel Explore a variety of handbuilding techniques with your child including pinch pots, wind chimes and texture tiles. Come ready to get messy! Min 4/Max 6 Introduction to Aerial Arts (Ages 7 - 13) Supervisor: Shari Wenzel This introductory class teaches the basic tricks and stunts straight from the circus and is open to all levels of fitness. Students will learn both the trapeze and aerial silks in a fun and exciting environment. it is not only a unique opportunity but a great way to improve physical strength and coordination. Min 6/Max 12 Intermediate Aerial Arts (Ages 8 - 13) Supervisor: Shari Wenzel In this second level Trapeze course, students will learn intermediate tricks and start to coordinate aerial moves together to form combinations and routines. Students will learn both trapeze and aerial silks in a fun and challenging environment. To join this class a student must take a full year Beginning Trapeze, or have teachers referral. Min 6/Max 12 Magic Class! (Ages 5 - 12) Supervisor: Kate Sniegowski Children are guaranteed to have a great time as they learn fascinating tricks from a professional magician! Amaze family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, mind-reading and more. While the tricks may appear difficult, you'll discover that they are quick to learn and easy to perform. All materials are provided, and each child receives a magic kit to take home. Children are grouped by age and will learn tricks that are age-appropriate. Additionally, you can sign up for this class again and again since brand new tricks are taught each session! Min 5/Max 40 Kids Wheelthrowing (Ages 10 - 18) Supervisor: Shari Wenzel Learn the basics of handbuilding and creating masterpieces on the wheel. Time will be spent on proper technique, glazing, design, and wheel.Min 4/Max 6 Parent/Child Ceramics (Ages 3 -5 with adult) Supervisor: Shari Wenzel Explore a variety of handbuilding techniques with your child including pinch pots, wind chimes and texture tiles.
