75 World Art Discussion - FREE Supervisor: Shari Melde Who are your favorite artists? What is modern art? Join the conversations about iconic works of art from Greco-Roman to Contemporary times. The discussions will be led by a resident art enthusiast. This club is perfect for those who know little about art but wish to learn more . . . and those who are passionate about art and wish to talk about it with others! Although this program is free, registration is recommended The group meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month (Aug 27-Dec 10) from 10:30A - 12:00P. Min2/Max 12 Book Worms - FREE Supervisor: Shari Melde Challenge yourself by setting a goal to read one new book a month! Enjoy meeting new people and participating in lively discussions about the various book worm books . . . chosen for this club. Although this program is free, registration is recommended. Group meets once a month on the 4th Thursday at the Cheney Mansion (220 N. Euclid) Meets on: 9/25, 10/23 (Nov/Dec dates TBA) ADULT SPECIAL INTEREST HALF YEAR MEMBERSHIPS AVAILABLE Memberships valid through February 28, 2015 Historic Park Lecture/Tour - FREE! Supervisor: Jessica Heim Enjoy a morning lecture on the rich history of local parks and learn a little more about the flora and fauna as well. Be sure to bring a lawn chair if you would like to sit! Although this program is free, registration is recommended. Tour will meet at the South entrance to the park on Lake St. and Oak Park Ave. Pkease note: if standing or walking for extended periods of time are a problem, please let us know and accommodations can be made per group! Min 4/ Max 20 Walking Club - FREE Supervisor: Shari Melde Stay active while exploring different neighborhoods in Oak Park. Club members will walk at a moderate pace, while deciding what distance is right for you! Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes, athletic socks, and bring a water bottle. The club meets every Monday & Friday at the large rock ("The Pillow") on the east side of Austin Gardens. Walking at a moderate pace for 60 minutes burns stored fat and can build muscle to speed up your metabolism. See you there! Group will not meet during excessive heat or inclement weather.
