Students will learn basic jazz skills and technique by referring to the methods learned in ballet. Lessons will include different ways for children to coordinate their bodies while dancing to different kinds of music and rhythms. This class will now consist of 45 minutes of ballet and 45 minutes of jazz. This way, students can be better exposed to both dance styles. Min 6/Max 12 Class does not meet: Sect. 01:10/15,11/26 Advanced Ballet & Jazz Supervisor: Stefany Cotton Dancers will continue to learn the art of ballet and jazz by furthering their technique and skills. Children will develop a sense of musicality and style in their dancing. This is a great way to continue in the dance world and teach young dancers poise, confidence, and character. This class will now consist of 45 minutes of ballet and 45 minutes of jazz. This way, students can be better exposed to both dance styles. Min 6/Max 12 Class does not meet:10/15,11/26 Musical Theatre Dance Supervisor: Stefany Cotton In this new, exciting class students will use basic ballet and jazz techniques to help develop a musical theatre style. Lessons will be taught using Broadway music, and will focus on different choreography routines each week. Children will develop style, and musicality, as well as learn character development through dance. Min 5/Max 12 Class does not meet:10/12,11/23 Tap Dance Supervisor: Stefany Cotton In this new class children will have the chance to learn an exciting style of dance. Lessons will focus on tap dancing basics, rhythm, and combinations. This is a great way to get those feet moving! Min 5/Max 12 Class does not meet: 10/12,11/23 Contemporary Dance Supervisor: Stefany Cotton Dancers will embrace ballet, jazz, and modern techniques while learning this new style of dance. Children will explore moving their bodies in dif- ferent ways, using partnering, improvisation and floor work. A mix of soft, fluid movements, and sharp, strong movements will challenge dancers and further develop their dancing abilities through this exciting class.
