Join us for an evening of wheel techniques, discovery and exploration as you experience the Park District's ceramics studio at Dole Center. Come ready to get messy and learn the basics. Please note the studio only has 6 wheels; therefore space is limited. Adult Ceramics Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Get creative and express yourself in this fun filled program that will focus on basic wheel throwing and hand building techniques. e teacher will provide instruction each week along with ideas for projects you can individualize: tiles, mugs, bowls, teapots, and more. All skill levels welcome! Continuing students are encouraged to register and use this class to enhance their skills. Clay, glazes, and firing are included in the fee. Depending on where your creativity takes you . . . class time allows for both wheel throwing and hand building opportunities. Please note the studio only has 6 wheels for use during class hours. Family Ceramics Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Explore a variety of hand building techniques with your child. Projects vary from pinch pots to tiles to sculptures and more! Come ready to get messy . . . fee covers one child and one adult. Please register the child only. Intro to Still Life Supervisor: Amanda Heiman is course will be an introduction to the study of color and composition, proper tool usage and a basic understanding of the foundation of still life. As an artist, you will participate in a fun and amazing journey exploring simple objects and incorporating them into a masterpiece, each week. Min 8/Max 12 Draw Like a Famous Artist Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Find the confidence to create your own masterpiece aer learning the beauty of replicating the likes of Miro, Hockney, Grant Wood and Degas. Graphite, charcoal and colored pencils required. Min 8/Max 12 Family Art Night Supervisor: Amanda Heiman Registration includes two family members. All supplies included. Each additional family member is $5. Enjoy family time being creative, busy, and ... of course together! Each family art night will consist of 1-2 projects around the planned theme as well as a snack and extension activities, should you have quick artists among your family! Sign up with friends today! All supplies included. Friday, April 21 – Windsocks Adorn your front entryway or your backyard with a family of windsocks, designed and created by you! Hang proudly your family project for the neighbors to see this spring season. Friday, May 19 - Flower Art April showers bring May flowers. Come spend the evening with us creating a bouquet of art work from flower drawings to flower collages. Your family is sure to leave with a frame worthy collaboration of color. Need more time to get your ceramics projects done? Come during designated Open Studio times, offered once a month for current students – no need to sign up, just stop on in Fridays, April 14 and May 12, 5:00-9:00P. Min 4/Max 6
