47 www.pdop.org Basic 1 Ages 6-15 Supervisor: Kayla Fauria Basic 1 is for participants who are new to figure skating. Participants learn to sit and stand up, marching, forward glides, dip, traveling forward swizzles, backward wiggles, snowplow stops, rocking horses and two-foot hops. Min 4/Max 16 Basic 2 Ages 6-15 Supervisor: Kayla Fauria Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing permission from Basic 1 prior to entering this level. Building from the previous level, Basic 2 develops one foot glides, backward two foot glides, traveling backward swizzles, two-foot turns in place, moving snowplow stops, and forward alternating half swizzle pumps in a line. Min 4/Max 16 Basic 3/4 Ages 6-15 Supervisor: Kayla Fauria Basic 3 Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing permission from Basic 2 prior to entering this level. Building from the previous level, Basic 3 develops forward stroking, half swizzle pumps on a circle, forward and backward moving two foot turns, backward one foot glides, forward slaloms, and two foot spins. Basic 4 Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing permission from Basic 3 prior to entering this level. Building from the previous level, Basic 4 develops forward outside and inside edges in a circle, forward crossovers, forward outside three-turns from a stand still, backward half swizzle pumps in a circle, backward stroking, and backward snowplow stops. Min 4/Max 16 Basic 5/6 Ages 6-15 Supervisor: Kayla Fauria Prerequisite: Participants must receive passing permission from Basic 4 prior to entering this level. Building from the previous level, Basic 5 develops backward outside and inside edges in a circle, backward crossovers, beginning one foot spin, hockey stop, and side toe hop in both directions. Building from the previous level, Pre-Freeskate develops forward inside Mohawk from a standstill, backward outside edge to forward outside edge on a circle, ballet jump, backward crossovers to backward outside edge glides, and forward inside pivots.
